Celebrity Bio
The 1990’s gave birth to a
new star, one who once said an angel with wings appeared to him as a child. His mother told him it was his guardian angel. Since then Denzel Washington has become a celestial body himself according to fans who swooned over his portrayal of Dr. Philip Chandler on the medical drama St Elsewhere” Once
that role ended he made a series of films throughout the 90’s often portraying real-life people such as Herman Boone,
and Malcolm X among others. He has continued to work in films past the 90’s becoming a major movie star.
Life wasn’t always so rosy
for Denzel, however. Born on December 28, 1954, in Mount
Vernon, New York as a youth his parent’s marriage ended when he was 14 years old.During these years Denzel turned to the streets as a way to cope with his father leaving. Unable to cope with his behavior and trouble making behavior his mother
sent him to boarding school to get him out of the
streets. As time went on Denzel credited the boarding school and the Boy's and Girl's clubs of America for getting him back on track He remains a supporter and spokesperson for the Boys and Girls Club of America today.
In college, he planned on a journalism career, attending Fordham University. Then the acting bug bit when taking roles
in a couple of plays at Camp Sloane YMCA, where he was a camp counselor. He returned to Fordham and enrolled in acting studies
at Lincoln Center campus. From there he went to the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco on a scholarship where
he learned to use a process called method acting. This process involves immersing yourself in the role by taking part in things
that bring you closer to being and understanding the character. After returning to New York, he began his successful acting
career winning Academy, Golden globe and Tony awards in the span of his career. Denzel also has contributed to the film industry
as a producer, director and screenwriter.
In
his private life, Denzel met and married his wife Pauletta Pearson in 1983. They have four children and are devout Christians.
Denzel once paid a couple of million dollars to help in the building of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ's facility
in Los Angeles. He has said before that he has often considered becoming a preacher, telling himself "A part of me still
says, ‘Maybe, Denzel, you’re supposed to preach. Maybe you’re still compromising.’ I’ve had
an opportunity to play great men and, through their words, to preach. I take what talent I’ve been given seriously,
and I want to use it for good.” He also believes in expressing gratitude for his success. One way he has done
this is by giving back to various programs in the community that support youth. In addition, he has written a book called
“A Hand to Guide Me” which includes contributions from people that Denzel feels have encouraged and mentored him
throughout his life. Portions of the money earned through sales of the book go directly to the Boy’s and Girl’s
Clubs of America.
Mio Review
Mio’s
liquid water enhancer is unlike any other
water enhancers I have tried. It tastes great and with nine flavors, there is sure to be one you like. What makes it even more unique is the design and portability of the package. It fits easily into a purse or
pocket. Since it is
liquid, no need for spoons to stir a
messy powder into a
glass. In fact, you don’t even need a
glass. Just add drops to a water bottle and shake. Quick and convenient no sugar flavor for a busy day, Mio has become one of my must haves in my
quest for an active life.

Comeback/Bio
(Clip- Bio Written for Edgar Bateman’s comeback tour a few years ago)
Edgar Bateman Jr. is one of the greatest soul touching influential
Jazz drummers in Jazz history. His natural talent, unique drumming style, dedication and love for drumming have won him loyal
fans all over the world. Born in St, Louis,
MO, Edgar started drumming when his sister, Dorothy taught him the basics of drumming on the back of an oatmeal box. From there Edgar taught himself, learning rapidly.
He eventually joined the drums corps advancing even more until he soon was teaching the corps himself. Although he played in high school for two years, Edgar still never had played
on his own set of drums. Working in the post office during the holiday season and shining shoes brought in the cash, Edgar
needed to buy his drums. The first steps had been taken on a journey to becoming a music legend that some have called "The greatest drummer ever"
Never one to run from challenges,
Bateman reached for excellence and spent hours at a time drumming literally beating holes into that first drum set.”
I didn't want to be good.” explains Edgar" I wanted to be great"Certainly Edgar has made that ambition a reality. Playing from the States to Europe he has shared
a stage with music industry "Greats" such as John Coltrane, Chuck Berry, The Four Tops, Chick Corea, The Platters
and Eric Dolphy among others. Bateman’s career spans generations of Jazz fans. His unique concise playing style has
been heard and seen in festivals, and concerts, including a two hour solo concert in Belgium that kept European audiences
begging for more. His sense of rhythm can
be heard in recordings on various labels with Walt Dickerson, John Handy, Dave Burns, Ken Mcintyre, Ted Curson and Eric Dolphy. His own original compositions including "Journey to
life", "Introducing Claire""From God to Miles" and Twudge" show an innovative and personal approach
to his art Time not spent performing and
creating was spent giving back to the next generation of Jazz musicians in assorted classes such as jazz drumming, master
class at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
One would think Edgar Bateman Jr, might be slowing down, resting on well deserved laurels and
enjoying his accomplishments. For someone that wants to touch as many as he can with his music, there is still much more to
come. Currently recording with his new band "The Truth", he has also found time to finish two recordings recently
on his own on the label of Freedom Jazz, with Bob Moses and David Murray and another on the Criss Cross Label. The Truth has also recently celebrated its one year anniversary
and has plans to release a much anticipated recording this year.
